MED 009 | Note from John Peel
Note from John Peel thanking me for the Stay Up Forever records and t-shirt I once sent him (on behalf of the band) when I worked for an independent record label.
Our office in Camden was so rundown that winter warmth came from a calor gas heater, and every morning, I swept mouse droppings off my desk.
But despite the humble status John Peel took time out to say thank you. Nobody was looking, and nobody knew he’d done it.
No one had to awkwardly pose for a “thank you to the team” gratitude photo, grinning in a LinkedIn post, because they felt obliged to do so even though it was giving them the ick.
Nobody really wants to do that; a better thank you is just a thank you.
