My_Empire_Of_Dirt_Blastoff_1989_90s_rave_flyer

Framed poster/flyer for *BLASTOFF JULY 1989* rescued from my Dad's garage hence the water damage. Another deposit into the archive: My Empire Of Dirt.

“AT A LOCATION NEAR BLACKPOOL” —a classic bit of illegal rave lingo and the exact location revealed just a few hours before, either by word of mouth or some other obscure clues I can't remember now.

No smartphones, no socials, no GPS yet despite the hurdles, thousands made it.

Everyone has become obsessed with spoon-feeding every detail from constant reminders to endless webinars with brands believing the more they hold consumers hands, the more engaged and loyal they’ll become, but in fact, they’re just denying them thrill of the hunt.

People aren’t passive; when handed on a plate, experiences feel manufactured and predictable. Things feel more valuable when worked for; the challenge of finding something is what makes it exclusive, thrilling, the harder the pursuit, the stronger the desire.

More about this poster later, there’s so much to love about it and the fact that it still exists at all is a minor miracle with the damp in my Dad’s garage.
